How to use this tool
- Choose one unencrypted standard XLSX workbook and select Inspect workbook.
- Review declaration text, cell addresses, formula types and cache presence in the report.
- For shared followers, use the reported anchor cell and range; the tool does not generate an expanded expression for each follower.
- Download formula-declarations.json. Recalculate in your spreadsheet application if current results are required.
Examples
A shared anchor C1 with declaration A1+B1 and range C1:C2 is exported alongside C2 as a shared follower with no original expression.
Limitations
- Up to 20 MiB input, 50 tabs, 10,000 formula declarations, 50,000 rows, 500 columns and 500,000 declared cells. Package expansion: 64 MiB; inspected XML parts: 8 MiB and 200,000 nodes; JSON output: 20 MiB; deadline: 60 seconds.
- Only original formula declarations are exported. Shared follower expressions are not expanded; spill or array-result cells without formula declarations are not invented.
- Cached results are unverified stored text and may be missing, empty or stale. Shared-string cache indexes are not resolved. Formula syntax and expression targets are not evaluated or validated.
- Linked dynamic-array flags and original metadata are reported as stored; they do not prove current spill behavior. Standard Transitional XLSX only; encrypted, macro, digitally signed, embedded-object and external-workbook-link packages are rejected.
