How to use this tool
- Enter Seed from 1 to 4294967295 as decimal digits. Set Duration (seconds), Sample rate (Hz) and Peak amplitude.
- Select Generate white noise, then Download result to save white-noise.wav. The result shows seed, rounded frame count and actual duration.
- Use Cancel during generation or Reset to clear settings and remove stale output.
Examples
Seed 42 at 8000 Hz for 0.0100625 seconds produces 81 mono frames; the requested 80.5 frames round upward.
Limitations
- Duration 0.01–120 seconds; rates 8000, 16000, 22050, 44100 or 48000 Hz; amplitude 0–1. At most 5.76 million samples and 11520044 WAV bytes, within a 12 MiB output cap.
- State updates before each sample with unsigned xorshift32 shifts 13/17/5. Samples use amplitude times (2 times state/2^32 minus 1), rounded once to Float32 before PCM16 encoding.
- Frame count rounds to the nearest whole sample. Abrupt boundaries can click; no seamless-loop or fade promise. No automatic playback, pink/brown noise or secure-randomness claim.
- Peak amplitude is a digital sample setting, not calibrated sound-pressure level or a health/therapy recommendation. Worker deadline: 120 seconds.
