How to use this tool
- Choose one UTF-8 subtitle file or paste subtitle text.
- For timing edits, choose an offset and scale: new time = old time × scale + offset.
- Select Process subtitles. Review cues and download the result. Reset clears working data.
Examples
A +1.5 second offset moves a cue from 00:00:01,000 to 00:00:02,500.
Limitations
- UTF-8 text up to 2 MiB, 10,000 cues and timestamps within seven days. Processing runs in a cancellable worker with a 30-second deadline.
- Conversions retain caption text and timing but omit formatting tags, WebVTT settings, styles, regions and comments. The editor preserves supported WebVTT settings and blocks unless cleanup changes cue text.
- Inline karaoke timestamps, HLS timestamp maps, SRT position extensions and arrows inside caption payloads are unsupported. Negative or zero-length results are rejected instead of silently clipped.
- Timing rounds to milliseconds. SRT numbering is regenerated; WebVTT output sorts cues by start time. The inspector preview shows 200 cues and 500 characters per caption; the downloadable report contains all cues.
