Server-Sent Events Parser

Parse a local UTF-8 event-stream snapshot into complete events, exact ID/retry state and pending EOF diagnostics.

UTF-8 text/event-stream snapshot

JSON events and pending-state report

Browser only

Runs locally in your browser. Your files, pasted content and generated output are not uploaded. Reset clears this tool’s working data.

This tool needs JavaScript. If it does not load, refresh the page and try again.

How to use this tool

  • Choose UTF-8 event-stream file or enter Event-stream text. A selected file takes precedence and preserves original terminators/BOM; pasted textarea line endings normalize to LF.
  • Select Parse event stream. Blank-line dispatches, committed lastEventId, current ID buffer, retry and discardedAtEof are separate report fields.
  • Select Download result for event-stream.json. Cancel terminates the owned worker; edit or Reset clears old output.

Examples

id:7 plus two data lines and a blank line dispatches one event with joined LF data; a final data line without a dispatch remains in EOF diagnostics.

Limitations

  • At most5 MiB UTF-8 and 5,242,880 UTF-16 units,200,000 lines,65,536 units per line,10,000 events,20 MiB JSON and 30 seconds.
  • Only terminated lines are processed. EOF does not add a blank line or event. Empty data can dispatch an empty string; id-only blocks can commit ID without an event.
  • Malformed UTF-8 files fail. This snapshot tool does not open EventSource, connect to a server, implement reconnection or replay timing.
