How to use this tool

  • Paste text or choose one UTF-8 file.
  • Use the default abbreviation list or enter an explicit list; an explicitly blank list disables abbreviation protection.
  • Split the sentences and download both the normalized text and complete source-span report.

Examples

Dr. Lee arrived. Ready? becomes two sentences with the default abbreviation list.

Limitations

  • At most 200000 UTF-16 units, 800000 UTF-8 bytes, 50000 sentences, 256 abbreviations and 4096 abbreviation units; 5 MiB combined output and 30 seconds.
  • Finite . ! ? punctuation rules protect ASCII-digit decimals and listed abbreviations. They do not provide universal linguistic sentence detection.
  • ASCII whitespace is trimmed at sentence edges and normalized internally in the text download. The JSON report retains original source slices and both offset systems; non-ASCII whitespace remains literal.
