Attempt to recover PDF cross references and rewrite damaged structure.
Browser only
Runs locally in your browser. Your files, pasted content and generated output are not uploaded. Reset clears this tool’s working data.
This tool needs JavaScript. If it does not load, refresh the page and try again.
How to use this tool
- Choose a PDF with damaged structure. Read warnings and inspect every page of the rewritten output.
- Choose Process PDF. The first run downloads and verifies the engine; Cancel stops loading and processing.
- Download the complete result and keep your original until you have reviewed the output. Reset clears file and password inputs.
Examples
Choose a PDF with damaged structure. Read warnings and inspect every page of the rewritten output.
Limitations
- 25 MiB input, 50 MiB output, 256 MiB native memory, 60-second loading and processing timeout.
- Known passwords only. AES-256 protection requires at least 8 characters and at most 127 UTF-8 bytes. Passwords are masked and excluded from diagnostics.
- QPDF checks structure, not PDF/A, accessibility, digital signatures or visual fidelity. Repair is best effort; no repair guarantee is made.
- Existing scripts, attachments and links may remain in output. They are not executed by this tool. Rewriting may invalidate digital signatures.
- Linearization requires byte-range support for faster viewing. Lossless recompression can increase file size.
