How to use this tool

  • Choose a PNG, JPEG or static WebP image and a tracing mode.
  • Set the working resolution, palette or threshold, curve tolerance and optional small-contour filter.
  • Choose Trace image. Review the vector preview, then download SVG or the working-resolution PNG. Reset clears files and results.

Examples

Trace a simple two-color logo with eight palette colors, tolerance 1 and a maximum working side of 512 pixels.

Limitations

  • PNG, JPEG and static WebP, at most 20 MiB, 24 megapixels and 16,384 pixels per side. Stored pixel orientation and browser-decoded colors are used. Source metadata is not copied.
  • Tracing downsamples to at most 512 pixels per side and composites transparency onto white. SVG retains the source display dimensions; the downloadable preview PNG uses the smaller working dimensions.
  • Monochrome uses weighted encoded RGB thresholding. Color mode uses a deterministic 5-bit histogram median-cut palette of 2–16 colors. Smoothing and color reduction change details; this is filled-contour tracing for simple artwork, not centerline tracing or a lossless photo conversion.
  • At most 80,000 color boundaries, 30,000 paths, 150,000 segments and 8 MiB SVG. Processing runs in a cancellable worker with a 120-second deadline. Omitted edge length can remove small contours.
