PDF Link Extractor
Export PDF page-link annotations, inert URI strings and available direct or named internal page targets as JSON.
JSON
Browser only
Runs locally in your browser. Your files, pasted content and generated output are not uploaded. Reset clears this tool’s working data.
This tool needs JavaScript. If it does not load, refresh the page and try again.
How to use this tool
- Choose one unencrypted PDF and select Extract links.
- Review each link annotation's page, rectangle, URI or internal target. A null targetPage means the destination was not resolved.
- Download pdf-links.json. Treat exported URI strings as untrusted text before using them elsewhere.
Examples
A URI annotation on page 1 and a named destination pointing to page 4 become separate records; a printed URL without an annotation does not.
Limitations
- One PDF up to 50 MiB and 500 pages, with at most 100,000 parsed objects, 10,000 page annotations, 10,000 named destinations and 5,000 destination-tree nodes. Link strings: 32,768 characters; JSON output: 20 MiB; deadline: 120 seconds.
- Only page Link annotations and their primary actions are inventoried. Printed URL text, action-chain expansion, document scripts and attachment extraction are outside this tool's scope.
- Direct and named internal destinations are resolved when supported; unresolved targets remain null. Unsupported action types are identified without execution.
- No URL is opened or fetched. An exported URI can use an unsafe scheme; inclusion in the report does not endorse or validate that address. Damaged or encrypted PDFs are rejected.
