How to use this tool
- Choose a PDF document. Enter Links (JSON) with page,x,y,width, height and exactly one uri or targetPage.
- Coordinates use points from the visible page’s top-left. Physical pages start at 1; rectangles must fit completely inside the page.
- Select Add links and download linked.pdf plus added-links.json. The rectangles have no drawn border; PDF readers can follow their targets.
Examples
[{"page":1,"x":20,"y":20,"width":100,"height":30,"targetPage":2}] adds a link on page 1 that fits physical page 2 in the reader.
Limitations
- One PDF up to 50 MiB, 500 pages and 100,000 objects; at most 1,000 links, 256 KiB JSON and 2,048 characters per URI. PDF output up to 100 MiB; report up to 20 MiB; 120-second worker limit.
- URI targets must be absolute http, https or mailto values without whitespace/controls. No JavaScript, Launch, local file, remote-PDF or chained actions.
- Only explicit positive finite rectangles that remain nondegenerate at PDF coordinate precision are admitted. No automatic text/URL detection.
- Supported original page objects, annotations, forms, saved appearances and navigation remain. Signed/unsafe/unsupported PDFs or forms needing appearance regeneration are rejected.
- The downloaded PDF contains intentionally active links. This tool does not fetch, validate availability or navigate to external destinations.
