How to use this tool

  • Choose one unencrypted PDF without existing attachments, associated-file structures or a portfolio.
  • Choose 1–5 files under Files to attach. Use unique ASCII basenames of 1–120 characters; letters, digits, spaces, dots, hyphens and underscores are accepted. No paths, reserved device names, repeated dots or trailing dots/spaces.
  • Select Embed attachments and download attached-files.pdf. Files are embedded in ASCII filename order.

Examples

Attach a-first.txt and z-last.bin to a two-page PDF; their exact file bytes appear in the PDF attachment list while saved page content, links, a bookmark and a form value remain present.

Limitations

  • One PDF up to 50 MiB, 500 pages and 100,000 input indirect objects; 1–5 attachments up to 10 MiB each and 20 MiB combined; output at most 100 MiB; worker task limit 60 seconds.
  • Existing EmbeddedFiles, associated-file entries, portfolios, file-attachment annotations and embedded file structures are rejected rather than merged. Signed or encrypted PDFs, unsafe actions and unsupported preservation features are rejected. Forms requiring appearance regeneration must be saved in a PDF application first.
  • Names must be unique ignoring ASCII letter case. Empty attachments are supported. Attached files are not opened or malware-scanned; generic MIME and Unspecified relationship do not certify PDF/A compliance. Reader attachment support varies.
