How to use this tool
- Paste Before JSON and After JSON, or choose each UTF-8 JSON file. A chosen file takes precedence on its own side.
- Select Compare JSON. Missing members differ from explicit null; object key order and equivalent decimal number spellings compare equal.
- Use Download result to save json-differences.json with complete ordered added, removed and changed records.
Examples
1.0 equals 10e-1; 9007199254740993 differs from 9007199254740992. [1,2] versus [0,1,2] compares each array position.
Limitations
- Each side: 5 MiB UTF-8, 200,000 values, 40 nesting levels and 10,000 characters per number. Combined input at most 10 MiB; at most 400,000 visited comparisons, 10,000 differences and 20 MiB output; 30-second deadline.
- Object keys use Unicode code-point lexical order. Arrays compare by numeric index; no move detection, sorting, LCS alignment or RFC 6902 patch output.
- Exact number tokens in reported values are retained. Equivalent mathematical decimal spellings and signed zero compare equal. Duplicate keys and invalid Unicode/UTF-8 are errors. Output-limit failure produces no partial download.
