How to use this tool

  • Paste JSON document input or choose a file for the document.
  • Enter JSON array of pointers and Replacement JSON (default string[REDACTED]). A sole empty pointer replaces the root; it cannot accompany another path.
  • Select Redact selected paths. Download result saves redacted.json; Download redaction-report.json contains only applied paths/counts. Cancel stops the worker; Reset restores defaults.

Examples

Pointers /password and /nested/a~1b replace password and the nested member named a/b. Explicit null is a valid target; missing is an error.

Limitations

  • Each JSON input at most 5 MiB; source and replacement share200000 parsed values. Logical result at most 200000 values/40 nesting levels,10000-unit number tokens,1000 paths,4096 units/40 segments per pointer and 256 KiB total pointer text, combined output20 MiB,30 seconds.
  • Replacement expansion is checked for repeated logical nodes, target-plus-replacement depth and complete output bytes before copying/serialization.
  • Unselected decoded values and exact number tokens remain. Object serialization order, whitespace and escape spellings are not preserved.
  • No automatic PII inference, wildcards, regex, deletion, security certification or guarantee of complete anonymization. Removed values are never included in the change report.
