How to use this tool

  • Choose Format and Input mode. Raw bit word expects8 or 16 MSB-first hexadecimal digits, with optional0x.
  • Decimal mode first parses JavaScript Number(binary64), then stores it in the selected DataView format. It is not direct arbitrary-decimal-to-binary32 rounding.
  • Select Inspect floating-point fields and download ieee754-inspection.json. Read conversion flags for overflow/underflow.

Examples

Raw binary32 3f800000 has sign 0, exponent 127, fraction 0 and exact rational 1/1. Raw NaN payload bits remain unchanged.

Limitations

  • At most300 UTF-16 input units, decimal exponent magnitude10,000,4/8 raw bytes,64 KiB JSON and 30 seconds.
  • Decimal NaN/Infinity names, hexadecimal decimal-mode tokens, separators and trailing junk are rejected. Conversion overflow/underflow is reported rather than hidden.
  • Raw NaN payload/sign inspection does not classify quiet/signaling or certify application floating-point behavior. Byte-order arrays do not reinterpret the canonical raw word.
