How to use this tool
- Choose one EPUB 2 or EPUB 3 file and select Edit supplied fields or Remove optional descriptions and custom metadata.
- Edit mode changes only supplied title, author and language; removal mode ignores these fields. Choose Process ebook. Cancel stops processing.
- Download the EPUB and review the removal report. Reset clears inputs and results.

Limitations
- 20 MiB compressed input, 64 MiB expanded/output, 1,000 ZIP entries, 8 MiB per entry and 60-second cancellable worker. Removal allows 4,096 metadata elements.
- One unsigned EPUB 2/3 rendition. UTF-8 or BOM-marked UTF-16 XML; ZIP64, unsafe paths, internal DTDs and custom entities are rejected.
- Removal preserves all identifiers, titles and languages, cover declarations, recognized rendition/media/accessibility properties and every non-package resource byte. EPUB 3 gets a new required modification timestamp.
- This is not anonymization: personal information can remain in retained fields, technical/accessibility descriptions, namespace declarations, filenames, chapters and images.
- Removal rejects DRM/content encryption while preserving IDPF/Adobe font obfuscation. Scripts and remote resources are preserved without execution or fetching.
- Package edits do not repair invalid EPUBs or certify accessibility. Check the result in your reader before replacing the original.
