How to use this tool
- Enter the admitted input and explicit options described below.
- Select Convert engineering notation and inspect the stated conventions.
- Download the complete result and any companion report.
Examples
0.1 becomes 100 times 10^-3; the engineering exponent is a multiple of three.
Limitations
- At most 220 raw UTF-16 units, 200 coefficient digits and supplied exponent −10000 through 10000; 64 KiB report and 30 seconds.
- The supplied-exponent bound does not clamp a derived normalized exponent. Zero has canonical coefficient/exponent 0 and a separate supplied-negative-zero observation.
- SI prefixes cover retained engineering exponents −30 through 30; absent entries are null. No unit conversion or approximate rounded value.
