How to use this tool
- Paste CSV input or choose a CSV file, then select Input delimiter.
- Set Numeric column, Rank order, Tie policy and New column name. Keep or clear Protect spreadsheet formulas.
- Select Generate ranks, then Download result for ranked.csv. Cancel stops unfinished work; Reset restores defaults.
Examples
Values 10, 10, 5 receive ascending competition ranks 2, 2, 1 in their original row order; dense ranks are 2, 2, 1 and descending competition ranks are 1, 1, 3.
Limitations
- 5 MiB input,50000 data rows,500 output columns,500000 cells including header,10000 UTF-16 units per numeric token, absolute exponent at most 100000,20 MiB output and 30 seconds.
- Numeric cells allow surrounding trim, signs,.5,1. and exponents. Blank, invalid and nonfinite cells reject the whole operation.
- Ordinal ties keep original relative order even when descending. No percentiles, grouped ranks or missing-value inference.
- Original numeric spelling is retained subject to selected protection; generated positive integer ranks remain numeric text. Headers must remain unique after protection.
