How to use this tool
- Paste CSV or choose a file and select Input delimiter.
- Enter selected column numbers, or leave them blank for all data columns. Enter Find and Replacement text, or choose their optional UTF-8 text files; each file wins for its own field. Choose spreadsheet protection.
- Select Replace in CSV, inspect matched occurrences and changed cells, then download replaced.csv.
Examples
In a.a, finding the literal dot and replacing it with $& produces a$&a; replacement dollar sequences are not interpreted.
Limitations
- 5 MiB input, 50,000 data rows, 500 columns, 500,000 cells, 1,000 UTF-16 units for find and replacement, 20 MiB output and 30 seconds.
- Header values are not searched; ordinary output quoting and selected default-on spreadsheet protection still apply. Conservative expansion admission may refuse an output close to its cap.
- No regular expressions, case folding, locale matching, cascading replacement or XLSX preservation.
- Native textareas normalize line endings to LF. Use optional UTF-8 find/replacement files, at most 4 KiB each before decoding and still within the 1,000-unit limit, for exact CR or CRLF literals. An empty replacement file is valid.
