How to use this tool

  • Select Tap beat at least twice, or focus it and press Space or Enter with the beat.
  • Read the accepted-tap count and BPM. Very fast taps are ignored; after a gap over three seconds the next tap starts a new sequence.
  • Choose Download tap report to save bpm-taps.json, or Reset to clear the sequence.

Examples

Accepted intervals of 500, 500, 490 and 510 milliseconds have a median of 500 milliseconds and yield 120 BPM.

Limitations

  • Keeps the last 64 accepted monotonic timestamps and at most 63 intervals. Intervals below 200 ms are ignored without moving the accepted anchor; a gap strictly over 3000 ms starts one new tap.
  • BPM is 60000 divided by the median interval; an even-count median averages its two middle values. The displayed value has two decimals; JSON retains full numbers and relative timestamps.
  • The admitted interval range yields a 20–300 BPM estimator. This is manual estimation, with no recorded-song beat detector, metronome, MIDI or timing accuracy guarantee.
  • JSON report up to 16 KiB. No sound starts, no audio input is requested, and Reset or leaving the tool clears active state.
