PDF to Target Size

Choose one PDF up to 50 MiB and a whole 1–50 MiB target. An original already within the target is returned byte-exact, including signatures. Above target, supported documents first try local lossless optimization with ordinary form appearances preserved or regenerated. Actual final bytes determine success. Raster conversion is off by default and requires explicit permission; a measured miss reports Target not reached and keeps the smallest valid candidate downloadable.

• Supported unencrypted PDFs retain searchable/vector content, canonical fields, safe URI/internal links, bookmarks and inert attachments. Ordinary text, choice, checkbox, radio and caption-button appearances are generated when needed using available fonts. Unsupported encodings, custom icon regeneration, signed modifying documents, active actions and unsupported document structures reject before a modified result; originals remain available.
• Local lossless optimization supports input up to 50 MiB within the existing 256 MiB WASM memory and 120-second operation budgets. Some files cannot meet an arbitrary byte target without losing quality or functionality; a measured miss remains an error, not a successful compression.
• Up to 100 pages and six raster attempts. Explicit raster permission keeps supported visible filled appearances, but intentionally converts text/vectors into JPEG page images and removes selectable text, forms, links, bookmarks and attachments. DPI/quality floors remain enforced. Review every final page.
